Craft beer has seen a bit of revival in recent years and with good reason. With new flavour combinations, brewing methods and breweries popping up around the UK good beer has never been easier to come by.
We get to work with some pretty cool independent breweries and can’t get enough of the stuff they’re doing. This week on our supplier spotlight we want to tell you a little more about one of our fave South London breweries, The Kernal Brewery.
So, why do we love them?
Here at Hipster Hamper Co HQ we love a good beer and judging by how many of you add it to your hampers, you do too. The Kernal Brewery ticks all the boxes when it comes to what we look for in a beer: they’ve got an impressive range, incredible taste, the quality is top-notch and the bottles look pretty cool too (shallow of us we know but have you seen them?). They take flavours seriously and we love how each beer has its own unique flavour and aroma making each sip a truly pleasurable experience.
What should I add to my next hamper?
We’ve got three offerings from The Kernal Brewery you can add to your hamper.
First up, table beer. This is a light pale ale that’s around 3% abv and uses malted barley and rolled oats; hops aroma abounds with bitterness in balance. The next choice is the pale ale which is dry and light-bodied using malted barley and is around 5-6% abv. And finally, we have the export India porter, which is a dark brown beer with promises of coffee and cocoa that’s balanced out with lightness, brightness and fruit. At 5.6-6.3% abv this is a bit punchier than the other two so proceed with caution!
We suggest adding all three to your next hamper so you get to try a range of the different beers The Kernal Brewery produce, especially if you’re creating a hamper for a beer aficionado. We think good beer makes a great hamper whatever you’re trying to say; pair with some snacks from Serious Pig and Billy Franks and you’ve got a hamper anyone would be grateful to receive.
